I started this journey in March as I lost my job. I was at an all-time “feeling sorry for myself low” and decided I needed to focus on me and feeling good. I managed to lose my 1st 20 lbs on my own going to the gym, working with my trainer Liz, and watching what I ate Mon-Fri. But then it started to become harder and harder to lose anymore weight and I knew I had to change my eating habits if I wanted to reach my goal and maintain how far I had already come. I needed structure, purpose and understanding to my eating and [the Balanced Habits™ 4-Week Program] program looked like it would provide each of those. [Now I am continuing] with the LIFE program so I can keep up the momentum and make this a life commitment. It feels like a year would give me that foundation.
The main positive impact I’ve experienced is with my family! 😊 They noticed a shift in me and how I started to feel, not only physically but mentally and emotionally. My entire outlook on life changed. I’m more out-going and overall just happier with life and myself.
I have tried several diets, Weight Watchers, Atkins, Cabbage Soup Diet and joined gyms/bought in-home exercise machines. I have been successful but only short term and always felt deprived in some way or another. Balanced Habits is different for several reasons, but I think the key is the support provided and that there was no “drastic” change to the foods I was already eating; just modifications. Additionally, I feel the knowledge I’ve gained on fueling my body encourages better choices and therefore I don’t feel deprived but empowered.
I would absolutely recommend Balanced Habits. I would tell them they deserve it! Be committed to feeling good and this is the best program to get you there and NEVER say never.
Today my son hugs me and says “geeze Mom you are so skinny”, and I have not fit into a size “small” anything since high school. And to my surprise, even now, I fit a size small. 😊 everyday I am so thankful for the support of my family, having met the Snap Team and joined the Balance Habits program, it really has changed me and I want everyone to feel this good!
