Tell us about your career in the fitness and nutrition industry?
I certified myself as a Personal Trainer over 10 years ago for myself and my family, with no intention of training others at that time. However, as my children have grown up and are leaving the house, I decided it was time to take the leap and begin sharing my knowledge and experiences and helping others with their health and fitness journey. I re certified myself 2 years ago after being out of the industry for over 10 years, and I am now a Personal Trainer at Ladies World and World Health and Fitness. I will be certified as a Senior Fitness Trainer in December 2020, and I’ll begin teaching a Row class that I created myself. I have [also] always known that nutrition is the key to success when it comes to weight-loss and muscle gains. September 2019 will be the first time as a Food Coach and I am very excited!
What inspires you?
My inspiration is based on my own journey of finally taking control of my fitness and overall well being. Working hard to strengthen my body as I was often in physical pain due to my scoliosis. I was not getting help from anyone, so I decided to educate myself and take control. The inspiration in my life comes from my desire to help my family and friends be in control of their own life, and deciding to take the steps to health and happiness!
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy getting to know people, learning so much from each client and watching people reach their personal goals in a healthy and maintainable lifestyle.
What special qualities do you bring to your coaching?
I am a positive individual that has always had struggles and victories with my own nutrition and fitness journey. I am honest and empathetic, willing to listen, support and share. I have been told many times over the last 15 years that I am motivating and lead by example.
What are your most memorable client experiences as a Food Coach?
I participated as a client in Balanced Habits Balanced Habits™ 4-Week Program this past year, along with my husband. I was intrigued with the program as it aligns with my thoughts and the way I approach nutrition. I also wanted to support my husband in his weight-loss journey. Since then my daughter and several close friends have completed the Balanced Habits™ 4-Week Program and have had great results! I think the most memorable experiences thus far is watching my family and friends learn about what their body needs.
What is your favorite Food Hack?
I often bake more chicken/fish and various veggies in my oven on sheets in order to have leftovers for my week. I always have a large variety of fresh vegetables washed and ready in my fridge.
Tell us something that not everyone knows about you?
I shaved my head bald 3 weeks after my wedding and have had a rainbow of hair colors ever since!
