It’s no surprise but every year toward the end of January beginning of February, I start to see it. Social media and peoples posts take a turn, their posts seem to express frustration, tough decisions, indecision and general unhappiness. (more…)
Are you limited by your genes? I seriously doubt it. Out of the thousands of people we’ve worked with over the years, I can’t remember a single one who couldn’t improve their genetics. Carolyn is a perfect example of this. Her genetic makeup is significantly different than mine. She gains weight easily, has to work twice hard to gain muscle and has to constantly monitor her health markers to stay healthy. However, because she continually chooses to eat healthy, exercises like crazy and lives with vitality, she can control her weight, her energy and her health markers like cholesterol, glucose levels, blood pressure, insulin and other hormonal responses so that she can live and look the way she wants. It’s that time of year again. Everyone is making New Year’s resolutions to accomplish one thing or another. The number one resolution always seems to be to get in shape and lose some weight. Why is it that we tend to wait for that one big day to take on this new lifestyle? That reminds me of one of our fitness client’s telling us that because it’s Halloween she just has to eat a few Tootsie Rolls. Aren’t Tootsie Rolls available year round? Isn’t that elusive new lifestyle of better health always there for the taking? It’s not so elusive after all. It’s available every day, you’ve just gotta want it. (more…)
I was walking through a parking lot the other day and saw a woman who was maybe 55 years old struggling to get out of her car seat. The door was wide open and
she clearly just didn’t have the leg or arm strength to stand up and exit. She wasn’t injured, per se, but she was definitely weak. So weak that she was struggling with a basic function of her day. (more…)
