 It’s that time of year again.

The time of year when people make New Year’s Resolutions.

Why are they so popular?

One reason is they give us hope.  Hope that in the immediate future positive change will materialize in our lives.

As we head into this new year, millions of people across the globe will pledge to (among other things) drink less alcohol, exercise more, get a better job, save more money and, of course, lose weight (what some people call a “January diet.”)  In fact, according to the Statistic Brain website, losing weight is the most popular New Year’s resolution. It’s that time of year again. Everyone is making New Year’s resolutions to accomplish one thing or another. The number one resolution always seems to be to get in shape and lose some weight. Why is it that we tend to wait for that one big day to take on this new lifestyle? That reminds me of one of our fitness client’s telling us that because it’s Halloween she just has to eat a few Tootsie Rolls. Aren’t Tootsie Rolls available year round? I want to communicate to you the truth about exercise. I want to explain why you need to ignore all of the government warnings about how much you should be moving. As MD Henry Lodge states in his powerful and provocative book, Younger Next Year, the government’s recommendation to exercise 2 or 4 days per week is only a bare minimum.
